The outdoor activities are only a little bit of the reason that people move here. Bend is also know for Central Oregon Community College and OSU Cascades. As well as a bunch of other trade schools, it is a great place to learn and play.

The Schools for primary education are some of the best in Central Oregon. This also makes Bend a great place to raise a family. It’s no wonder Bend is growing so fast. On Bends sought after West side you will find a large trees, establish foliage and a plethora of eclectic shops and stores. On Bends west side you will find great neighborhoods like Northwest Crossing, Tetherow, Oldtown, Downtown, and Aubrey Butte. Each offers a unique experience and style of living. Typically the Real Estate values in this part of town tends to be the highest in Bend. Homes cost on average about 35 to 40% more. On the east side of Bend, you don’t have to go far from your front doorstep to experience the  Bend area and all it has to offer.  On the east side we have the Pine Nursery Park that boasts a 136 acre park providing walking trails, a large 17 acer dog park, sports facilities, disc golf, fishing, and much more. There is also easy access to the east sides’ mountain bike trails and horse ridge.  Just off 27th near Wells acers we have Bend’s Mt View High School.  The east side of Bend also offers easy access to both the north and south side of Bend by using 27th or Eagle and Neff rd. Shopping at the Forum which provides shops to include Costco, Win Co, Whole Foods, Safeway, Big Lots, Barnes & Nobel, and many other shops.  There is also a wonderful variety of restaurants in the same area to include Worthy Brewery, The Phoenix, Hola’s, Baldy’s BBQ, El Caporal’s, Cuppa Yo, Bogey’s Burgers, Mothers, Longboard Louie’s, and many others.  Another important benefit of the east side of Bend is that it is in close proximity to the St. Charles Hospital BMC Hospital. The North end of Bend has become more popular with the addition of all the new homes and shopping centers. Some of the most popular areas to live are Boyd Crossing, Northpointe, Rimrock Riders, areas of Mount Washington Dr. Popular areas for shopping on the North end of Bend include Best Buy, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Ulta Beauty Supply, Macy’s, Kohls, TJ Maxx’s, Food For Less, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sportsman Warehouse, AT&T, JC Penny’s, Ashley Furniture, and Petsmart. There are also a lot of great food opportunities to try like the new Cracker Barrel, Mod Pizza, Blackrock Coffee and Olive Garden. There are also a lot of other great favorites in the North end of Bend like Johnny Corino’s, Starbucks, El Rancho Grande, The River House, Currents, McKay Cottage, Northside Bar and Grill, Mavericks Country Bar and Grill, Backyard Brick Oven Pizza, Sharie’s, and many more. Living in the North End of Bend offers quick access to Redmond, Sisters, and even the West and East side of Bend.

The South end of Bend also has a lot to offer and has quick access to Sunriver. The south side of Bend has become much more popular with a mixture of affordable and luxury home prices as well as. It also tends to be filled with mature trees and greenery. Some of the most popular areas are Oldmill, River Rim, and Deschutes River Woods.
